Extremely rare model. This is the first pattern with the short spring. Most of them were converted to the 2nd model by lengthening the spring and moving the attachment screw. Ricasso is marked P.STEVENS over MAASTRICHT on one ricasso. The other side is marked with a star over B in a cartouche. The whole bayonet has been coated in varnish. This has protected the bayonet from corrosion but can be easily removed with acetone.
