Reference: Battle Weapons 38BB
Nice example of a M1740 that was officially shortened in 1787. 17 inch blade. Found under a roof in northern Germany. Flattened octagonal socket. Very thin and light blade with a concave face. Surface encrustations as expected with the location it was found.
