Short single edged knife blade with a false edge. Like is often seen on these bayonets the mortise slot is cut to fit to the left of the barrel. Three steps. It has a filed attachment shield. The shank features a very finely developed octagonal cross section and a decorative ball. Moderate pitting with a heavy patina overall. Edge loss due to sharpening in the era on both the false edge and the edge. Scace bayonet.
