Reference: Janzens Notebook 72-4
A few were used in the French trials but most were sold to Uruguay. This on has a one digit serial number on the pommel indicating it was sold abroad but one of the first made. Most of these bayonets were modified in Uruguay with a new hilt for a different rifle. Examples in original form are quite scarce. The grip on this one is in great shape.
