Made in England for the EIC. It is the new pattern- when used in England it was called the India Pattern. Made between 1804 and 1837. The heart on the socket was eliminated in 1804 and in 1837 they started using date codes on the blade. Regimentally marked R over 14 over E over 8. These bayonets are quite scarce. A dark crusty patina overall. The crown stamp on the blade is just barely visible. The 16 inch blade has been shorted about an inch.
